Keep putting it off, but here is some screen shoots of my "workshop" lvl for 3D.
The idea is a candy store, grand opening.
Still work in progress but here is what it looks like right now.

More Ezti

Here is more progress done on Ezti, my fairy.
I had to change the pose (the upper part) and so had to redraw all that... But here is some progress and some study of color, nothing final.

Her weapon is a gumdrop with broken sugar glass. But I'll be changing the weapon yet again so that is not final.

WIP Ezti

I have chosen the candy fairy for my boss character and here are references that I pulled up. Some cutesy images for how she will look and the bottom is reference for her skirt and some finer details.

And here is a WIP of the final drawing. I have to fix a lot since we had a critique and now I need to fix all those details. The shading is dark and I will be fixing that.

Boss Final Sketches

Here are the final 6 boss character sketches. Out of these six, I couldnt decide between the doppleganger inspired (bot left) or my candy fairy (bot right).

So I did a more "Refined" sketch for the two just to get a baring of what I may want to do.

In the end, I went with the fairy, haha.

Putt Putt Enters the Race

Putt Putt is a casual adventure, point and click type of games. It is a childhood classic and one of the best games to play when young (even still today). For this game in particular, Putt Putt (the main character) is invited to a race and he must go through the whole town to get supplies to enter in the race. You must help him navigate and solve puzzles to gain the objects. You can actually race in the end!

I should choose a specific mini game within this game, but they are all so small or quick and the whole game is mostly the same throughout. So I'll go over the basics of the whole layout.
The whole game is based on interacting with everyone and getting information and items from getting info on the towns folk. Its a simple and fun linear graph- get from point A to B to C and continue until you get the puzzles done.
Within the game, are simple object use, Information puzzles, people, sequence... A common basic sequence puzzle game.
Sure it seems plain and over done, but realize this game was released in 1992 and aimed for little kids.

Putt Putt is one of the greatest game series I've played. Its simple, cute lovable, and it never gets old. The troubles of the people and how you go around learning new people and doing small things to help but they are huge favors for them. OH, and when he goes to the moon! HM. That was fun!

Level Desgn

Well since I posted the mod kit stuff before, I might as well show the design layout I created for that lvl. Something simple and it had to be symmetrical. I had to change my idea like three times so now its mostly just a box with baby boxes next to it. Yay.

The idea was a cat kingdom.
"A kingdom ruled by cats and only felines.
A King whom’s body guards are dwindling finally holds the annual Gato Chase Games.

You, the only humans on this land, have been brought to NekOligocene. Faced with other humans, who have been mysteriously stolen, to survive an all out war. Only one can proceed to the top and be crowned the strongest champion and allowed to live.
The last survivor is claimed champion but you are now just a mere servant for a King who is a cat."

Model Stuff

Here are some models I created for another project. Just a quick game level design we had to do.

Lantern

Here is my final final stuff for my lantern.
The 3D model of it, textured and lit. And the drawing aspect of it which was the design for the 3D.

The lantern is my high poly model. The low poly is just barely under 10,000.

Biome

Ha, I forgot to post my biome screenshots. Our first project for 3D was to creative an environment that inflicts emotions. I shouldn't say inflict... it evokes an emotion.

The "contact" sheets for the models I used. Meow.

Hmm Lanterns

Me lantern! Our next project for drawing class was to create a hero prop. I designed a lantern that is powered by a crystal in the middle, shooting out fire to see and destroy vines that cover doors. In the first image, its just a basic concept idea for what it can do. So, burn vines, shoot out to give light and see for, and to light up a small puzzle to get to the final.

Here we have the final layout of the Lantern. It opens in the front to reveal the crystal (which I later put as a magical bird) and shoot out fire. The inspiration was a birdcage type lantern which explains the wings and the way it opens in the front. The top part of the lantern closes so that the fire can be more intense and not come shooting above to the player.

The Shade

Now that I look back at this... Its pretty dark. Not much in between. Bleh, thats what you get for staring at the same thing for a while.

But im still happy for the most part of the final pieces. My favorites would be 1, 2, and 4. And 5. Haha, love those the most.

Hero Mech Props

For our next project we are making a "Hero prop" which has to be mechanical and have some kind of movement and splines.

Here are my ideas for the props:  (( Im retyping all the sketches and giving more info))

1. Airhead- "Standard pilot helmet w/ flying contraction"  -- To make this make sense quickly- Think Inspector Gadget's hat. Go-go gadget helicopter hat.
2. TentaCape- "Basics of a cape but using wires instead of fabric. Like Dr. Oc from Spiderman but cape version"   --  Its a protective cape that expands into wires and attack
3. SnakeWrap- "Seemingly pretty decor bracelet, but weapon of venom."   -- A "semi-alive" mech bracelet that slivers alive and bites and injects venom.
4. Stalker- "robo-animal that follows & protects the hero."  -- A mech slave essentially.
5. Hecate II- "basic military gun"   -- A real french gun that they dont make anymore.
6. Spear- "standardize extension spear. Grows longer & more deadly"   -- I personally love spears, man. Love them. To get that extension look, I was looking at The Mummy Returns spear of osiris
7. Fire Bird Cage- "A flame lantern w/ designs of a bird cage. If & when opened, a fire shaped like a bird attacks."    --   An oil lamp with a structure of a bird cage. Wings block the fire like a door. When opened its like a fire explosion.
8. Hover Sole- "hovering shoes. Jump far for a brighter future!"  --  Hover shoes... what more to say? Its like a trampoline on your feet.
9. IJ Whip- "a whip that can extend & poke out"  A mech whip that can extend/break apart and cause more damage that a regular leather whip. This can dig into your flesh and tear at bones.
10. Multi Round- "a spherical grenade that opens & fires small shots before exploding"   --   A basic concept for a grenade but it opens in the middle and shots out mini bullets before rolling away a few seconds then exploding.

Silhouettes and Doodles

Homework we had to do was to create 100 silhouettes and 50 doodles/scribbles. It took much longer then I originally though honestly, haha. Doodles not so much. Although I did have to keep going back for a few.

Now we have to make actually drawings with them. Making something from silhouettes essentially, but that will be fun. I actually love finding things in textures and such. And in truth we are doing the same thing but with textures for our next hw assignment.
I got the 50 textures but I still havent done any of the drawings for any just yet. Still doing other hw assignments!
Photography hw coming next hopefully!

TF2 CTF Well

Another assignment that we have to do is to make a presentation of a first person shooter game and define the map and theme. I went with Team Fortress 2 Capture the Flag Well map.

The top photo is the rocket in the back of each base. The middle photo is the building for the Red Team base and the last photo is the base for the Blue Team. What I find funny about these maps are the "hidden" glitches and such about. While roaming around this map I happened to find myself in another plane far from the original map. I didnt take a screen cap but I still thought it was funny how they left that little piece there. Why?

Anyway; here is a little legend map overview of the Well Map.

Biome

Another year is here and so begins the trails to survive.....

For one of the first projects we are going to make a evocative biome. That essentially means making an environment that has an emotion. We can choose whatever kind of environment and create what we want but we have to make that area evoke an emotion.
For my idea, I want to make a photo from a wonderful photographer I've been following for years now, come to life. Its a slight swampy look but its actually a forest like scape.

^ These photos are taken from Mount Auburn cemetery in MA. I just love how everything comes together and that sunlight that comes through is just beautiful.
Although for my theme I wish to portray fear or suspense. I'll be changing the light to blue hues and casting more night time light.

Right now we are just getting reference so I'll be posting more ref for textures and such later on.

Dig Dug

(I found this picture and that it was too cool to pass up)

Anyway, Dig Dug! A classic arcade game I remember playing when I was young. Now its time to remake it in unreal. Although we only have a short time to do it and we can make it exactly the same as the classic look.
Dig Dug is a game about a character digging underground to destroy these creatures that haunt. You have this round thing and a dinosaur/dragon. The way to kill them is to inflate them until they pop (which now that I think about is really cruel and insane).

At the top of the gameview, you have the top land where all the things live above, and a flower at the right corner to indicate what level the player is on. Everything else down is ground.

Here are some sprites from the actually games. The kill animation for the creatures are 3 simple pics and when they fly across the ground (like magic) its just 2 images for that. For the gun that would probably be around just 2 images. The second is more like an extension.

While playing the game again I noticed that the dragon glows while shooting out fire. That can be done easily with a flashing mask over a texture. Has to be times through the fire sequence though.
Rocks dont have an animation honestly- it just breaks into two and disappears.

http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/digdug/digdug.htm
^ Here is a really cool website I found showing all the versions of the Dig Dug. The evolution essentially of how its been progressed through the years. The game came out in 1982 so Im not surprised they expanded this franchise.

With this we could easily use these as inspirations for a better and cooler Dig Dug.

LVL HUD Design

So for our racing level's we'll be making our own HUD design. Thats mostly the decal stuff on the screen. So since this is a racing level- the designs will be the speedometer and such.

I really wanted to keep my design simple and easy to understand but I also wanted to make it cutesy and vibrant since my level is well... vibrant and cutesy in a way.
Here are a few examples I found that were simple enough:

The last two are actual car designs, and I wanted to mix the two together so I'll see how that goes.
