Lantern

Here is my final final stuff for my lantern.
The 3D model of it, textured and lit. And the drawing aspect of it which was the design for the 3D.

The lantern is my high poly model. The low poly is just barely under 10,000.

Biome

Ha, I forgot to post my biome screenshots. Our first project for 3D was to creative an environment that inflicts emotions. I shouldn't say inflict... it evokes an emotion.

The "contact" sheets for the models I used. Meow.

Hmm Lanterns

Me lantern! Our next project for drawing class was to create a hero prop. I designed a lantern that is powered by a crystal in the middle, shooting out fire to see and destroy vines that cover doors. In the first image, its just a basic concept idea for what it can do. So, burn vines, shoot out to give light and see for, and to light up a small puzzle to get to the final.

Here we have the final layout of the Lantern. It opens in the front to reveal the crystal (which I later put as a magical bird) and shoot out fire. The inspiration was a birdcage type lantern which explains the wings and the way it opens in the front. The top part of the lantern closes so that the fire can be more intense and not come shooting above to the player.

The Shade

Now that I look back at this... Its pretty dark. Not much in between. Bleh, thats what you get for staring at the same thing for a while.

But im still happy for the most part of the final pieces. My favorites would be 1, 2, and 4. And 5. Haha, love those the most.

Final Chosen

Here is the outline of my final 9 sketches. Now to shade them all! HA

Top left: chief bird with no wing
Top 2nd: some kind of seller guy
Top 3rd: Centaur with a platypus hum- I mean, hugging her.
Top Right:Round rhino

Bottom LEft: some kind of frog water creature (very adorable)
Bottom 2nd: Fat boy
Bottom 3rd: Raccoon playing in radioactive slime
Bottom Right: sheep dog?

Sketch Silhouette + Doodles

Have to post those sketches of my work! Haha, sooo much work has been done these past weeks.. Ahhh, so tired...

Main idea : making characters out of the doodles we did. here is the starting process of what I was working on. I saw more stuff in my silhouettes then doodles.... Ehhh that okay.
